Enantia has a vast experience in general organic synthesis and in process development, especially in the fields of asymmetric synthesis, enantioselective catalysis and metal-mediated coupling reactions. This expertise is applied to a wide scope of project types serving a variety of markets.
For the R&D pharmaceutical companies, we team-up with their medicinal chemistry teams to provide them with sets of molecules for screening, tailored building blocks and advanced candidates in larger amounts and contributing to the chemical development of selected compounds.
For the generics market, Enantia is well known to have developed a number of non-infringent chemical processes for several APIs. Today we still devote significant efforts to improve the industrial synthesis of the generics of the future.
For the Fine Chemicals sector we collaborate, designing new routes of synthesis or improving the existing ones for their target products. Our industrial insight in chemical development along with our expertise in asymmetric synthesis makes us a partner of choice when our clients are dealing with the industrial preparation of complex chiral and non-chiral molecules.
For the Biotech sector, we are able to offer an integrated chemical service, starting from the initial supply of molecules for the biological screening, following with the chemical development of the most promising compounds and finally manufacturing the selected compound for the clinical trials. A one-stop-shop service very convenient for those drug discovery companies that decide to outsource all their chemical activities.
Specific expertise and know-how have been acquired in the following chemistries:
- Non-natural amino acid synthesis
- Enantioselective epoxidations and dihydroxylations of olefins and their further transformations
- Enantioselective hydrogenations (with hydrogen gas or hydrogen transfer)
- Enantioselective alkylation and arylation of aldehydes
- Enantioselective reductions of ketones
- Pauson-Khand reaction, both catalytic and asymmetric
- Ring-closing metathesis reaction
- Metal catalyzed coupling reactions (Suzuki, Negishi, Kumada, Hartwig-Buchwald)
One of the fields in which Enantia is actively investing significant efforts is in the quest for new chiral ligands that could present both improved chiral induction and cost advantages over existing ones.
As a result of our research efforts Enantia has participated (either as applicant or as inventor or both) in over 20 patent applications so far. We have developed non infringent chemical processes for, among others, the following molecules: Valsartan, Sildenafil, Esomeprazol, Quetiapine, Adapalene.
